Thursday’s Highlights at The Great Escape
The first day of The Great Escape has come and gone and it was a day to remember. With a wide diversity of acts plotted along the day and around the city, amazing food stands and festival vibes all together. Here are some of our highlights from Thursday.
The morning kicked off to such a great vibe to Lemonade Shoelace, with all their tracks written, recorded and produced by one person in an at home studio they controverted expectations. Simultaneously kicking off the Scotland at The Great Escape stage was Calum Bowie, hailing from Banchory in Aberdeenshire, the young artist delivered an outstanding performance with a show that left us looking up his upcoming tour dates for more.
As the day wore on, the crowds continued to grow and the excitement continued to build. Hot Wax and coach party had the entire crowd on their feet and dancing with their explosive sets, and brought the representation female artists needed. while Willie J Healey brought Komedia to its knees with his energy and a performance we knew was never going to disappoint.
As the sun began to set, the festival really came to life .One of the best highlights of the day were VLURE bringing Energetic synths and their godly post punk energy. Ending the day with a bang Noisy’s Fast Fwd to Friday set transferred us into the deep dungeons of rave culture, playing new tunes and collaborations. It was the perfect set to end the first day.
Now to do it all again for the second day of the festival, on our list to watch for today is: Seb Lowe,Yonaka, Larkins and youth sector.
