Eurovision Winners Maneskin Release Their New Album “Rush!” and Prove To The World That They’re Here To Stay!
Italian rock band Maneskin are bursting into the music scene out of nowhere after winning Eurovision for Italy in 2021 with over a 25 point lead. Their unique style, to the rest of the competition, forced them into the spotlight and got the world thinking, “Who are these guys? Why can't we get enough of them?”. They continued to follow up, earning two top ten positions in the official charts in 2021, winning MTV’s best rock song for their “The four seasons” cover of Beggin’ as well as being nominated for “Best New Band” at the Grammys, where they will battle for the award later this year. After selling out shows across the world, including London's Legendary o2 Arena to recently Collaborating with Rage Against The Machines legendary Tom Morello on their single “Gossip!”, It goes to show that these Glam Rock superstars are here to stay and that they’ve cemented their place in the modern rock world.
Their New 17 Track Album “Rush!”, released on the 20/01, sees the band exploring their sound with world renowned LA based producer Max Martin, Famous for his extensive career in the music industry working with acts from Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift to Usher and The Backstreet Boys. The band's songwriting goes hand in hand with Martin's tight production to create an album full of undeniably catchy hooks that will be sure to be stuck in your head whilst you go about your day.
The track list also sees the band experimenting with guitar pedals and various production effects, taking the band to the unfamiliar practices of previous records. They Utilised this in order to create a unique atmosphere with each track. This follows their recent listening to Radiohead during the writing process. Frontman Damiano said to NME “I think that the inspiration we got from Radiohead was to be very focused on creating a very specific world for each song. It's something they do very, very well so we tried to create these amazing atmospheres”
This is especially apparent in tracks like “The Loneliest”, a Heartbreaking ballad that Beautifully explores death and loss with a soundscape incredibly reminiscent of their influence.
They were also sure to mix in some of their biggest hits. “ZITTE E BUONI”, the Italian rock song that had catapulted the band into their success at Eurovision. The performance had everybody in the room moving so much, the ground shook below your feet. The crowd shouted every lyric word for word creating a raw live atmosphere that transcended language barriers. This was then followed by the cult favorite cover of “BEGGIN’”.
Whether you love them or hate them it's clear to see that Maneskin are here and they are here to stay.
