As It Is Live @ Green Door Store 22.05.2025
It’s been close to 3 years since the last As It Is show, and 5 and a half years since the full lineup played a show together. After announcing their comeback last year, re-recording their debut album their first show back together is in the band's hometown of Brighton with fans travelling from all over to celebrate the band's return.

Opening up the night is High Regard, with a lot of people getting down early the room was already filling up as the band got on stage. The high energy set immediately got the crowd engaged in the set. There was a few people in the crowd already fans, singing along. However by the end of their set it’s clear they will have gained many more fans from people in the crowd
The first half of As It Is’ set was dedicated to their debut album ‘Never Happy Ever After’ celebrating the 10 year anniversary and playing the album in full for the first time in 9 years. With the re-release of the album featuring multiple collabs it was a welcome surprise for fans when Alex Adam and Alex Costello of ROAM joined the stage for Cheap Shots and Setbacks. While most of this set was full of the high energy pop punk vibes you would expect with singalongs and crowd surfers. The couple of acoustic tracks of the album gave a chance for the band and fans to reflect on the band and its history, it’s clear these songs mean a lot to everyone in the crowd. As well as playing the album in full they immediately followed with another 11 songs spanning the bands discography, including the live debut of track ‘Balloons’ a previously unreleased b-side from 2017, as well as one of the bands oldest songs 'Pilgrims. Another deeper cut and fan favourite ‘January’ made its live return and with the show being in the band's hometown of Brighton a performance of ‘The Coast Is Where Home Is’ was definitely appropriate.

With people coming from all over the world, connecting over their shared love of a bands music, looking back on old memories and making new ones, it was the perfect setting for As It Is’ triumphant return
